Recommended Kindergarten Supply List
 2009-2010

• 1 kindergarten rest mat – Kindermat brand is the preferred brand. (red and blue, four section folding type) PLEASE do not buy the fat mats. They take up too much room and our storage space is very limited. Thanks!
• 1 large beach towel
• 1 school bag - A canvas tote bag with two handles for carrying papers and folders. These are just the right size and easily handled by kindergarteners. PLEASE NO BACKPACKS. Backpacks will be special for first grade. SUGGESTION: JoAnn's Etc, Michael's, Walmart and Parent-Teacher Store carry plain canvas bags that make great book bags. The plain bags can be decorated with fabric paint, markers, etc. at home if you desire, but decoration is not required!

PLEASE print your child's name only on the mat, the towel, and school bag.

• 2 boxes Crayola crayons (8 in a box) – NO fat crayons
• 2 boxes Crayola crayons (24 in a box) – NO fat crayons
• 1 box broad tip Crayola markers (10 in a box) – Classic Colors*
• 1 box fine tip Crayola markers (10 in a box) – Classic Colors*

*PLEASE purchase only CLASSIC colors and Crayola brand for both sets of markers. Other brands don’t always have the same colors.

• 4 four oz. bottles Elmer’s WHITE “Glue-All” (orange top) –These are often on sale for 15 – 20 cents each in the summer. PLEASE no “School Glue” or gel.
• 1 ream 8 ½ x 11 white copy paper

PLEASE do not put you child's name on any supplies except the rest mat, beach towel, and book bag.

We suggest you buy your child's supplies sometime during summer before school starts. Most stores put out back-to-school items early in July and sometimes run sales on many of these items.

Please send all you child's supplies to school on the second day of school (August 12). Please send the supplies in a grocery bag with your child's name on the bag.

In addition to this list, each individual teacher may request other items as needed for her classroom. Kindergarten workbooks may need to be purchased at the beginning of the school year. If they are needed, information concerning workbooks will come at that time.
